Welcome to Ryde United Reformed Church

Corbett/Upton Road, Haylands, Ryde, Isle of Wight.

Our Sunday Services are at 10.30am and at 6.30pm

We use several different formats of service ranging from all age worship on the 2nd Sunday morning of the month to a Communion Service on the 3rd Sunday evening of the month and a Bring Your Own Sermon Text, often on the 2nd Sunday evening of the month, when we literally invite folk to find a text which the Minister will then preach on having had no notice of the text prior to the service

Morning communion is on the first Sunday of each month after which (from January 2007) a meal will be served in Beechgrove House (on our site) to enhance fellowship in the Christian Community. It is intended that, each month, there will be a number of 'spare' places for those non-Christians who might be invited by our current Members and Friends. We aim to be able to share friendship and fellowship with those seeking to know more about the Christian faith and, in this way, to encourage them to see true Christianity at work in their lives, not as a threat or as an irrelevance but as a means of making good friends and knowing that we really do care about people, as Jesus did. During the meal, apart from saying grace, there will be NO church talk at all!  That is not the purpose of the meal!

Each 2nd Sunday evening of the month our minister now asks the congregation, at the point in the service where the sermon is to be preached, for their suggestion as to what he preaches on. Provided genealogies or other lists are not given he will preach on any subject or any part of Scripture - do come along and try him on this  - there have been just 2 occasions so far when he has not been able to respond there and then

On the 4th Sunday evening of the month we normally join with Churches Together in the Ryde area in a service in one of the other local Christian fellowships. The venue is displayed on our church door - it is not included here because it can change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances

Our Sunday morning worship is often led by our music group which consists of a variety from the following:  flute, clarinet, keyboard, guitar and a piano. We also use our small organ at times

We currently use Complete Mission Praise which is supplemented by the use of our projector and a host of more modern songs and hymns, some of which our minister has written.

We are an evangelical, charismatic fellowship, strong in the Word and growing in the things of the Holy Spirit - we invite all who wish to follow the Lord Jesus to join us and experience the fullness of His reign and power in their lives. For lively, clear exposition of the Word, look no further
